  • Hourly rate of $39.67 to $55.73 for Registered Nurses (Year 1 - Year 8) and $35.69 to $38.84 for Enrolled Nurses (Year 1 - Year 4) plus a 25% casual loading. Access to salary packaging via Maxxia to maximise your take home pay.

    Are you a Registered or Enrolled Nurse looking for casual work that fits around your life while offering exposure to a diverse range of specialties? At Macquarie University Hospital, you'll have the opportunity to work independently and as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team across a variety of departments, delivering exceptional, compassionate care to every patient. You could work across a range of multi-specialty areas, including:

    • Wards (Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Urology, Colorectal, Plastics, Neurosciences, Cardiothoracics and Cardiology).
    • Perioperative Day Stay.
    • ICU and Critical Care Unit.
    • Endoscopy and Angiography.
    • Providing patient care in accordance with documented care plans, maintaining accurate and timely documentation, and contributing to a safe, high-quality work environment.
    This casual role is based on an "as and when required" schedule with no fixed hours, offering variable shifts of 6, 8 or 12 hours. There may also be opportunities to undertake fixed-term contracts covering annual leave, sick leave, or short-term vacancies. Employment options will be discussed with you when you apply.

    SELECTION CRITERIA

    • Registration as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
    • Previous experience in Acute Care and/or Perioperative services is highly desirable.
    • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-service focus and the ability to establish professional relationships with peers and clients.
    • Flexibility with roster and shift availabilities.
    • Competence in assessing, planning and implementing preventative care approaches, with strong critical thinking, initiative and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
    • Well-developed technology skills, including the use of electronic medical records systems, Microsoft Word, Excel and web-based research.
